Fall Break!

Now that Collin's in Kindergarten, we get to get super excited about things like Fall Break!  For our first fall break, we decided to go and visit Grammie and Grandpa (Mike's grandparents) in Gulfport, MS.  They live in Illinois, but recently bought another home in Gulfport and we couldn't wait to visit!  We were up and on the road early Friday morning ( I think we left at 7...this was a huge accomplishment for us and we were glad to get down there so early!).

Happy Kate with the kindle and all of her friends on the way down.
Happy Collin with the other kindle.

According to Collin, "the broken place" we ate at on our first night.

Really good bbq though!
And good mac and cheese!
Saturday, we had a picnic lunch on the beach (Whataburger!) with Mimi, Auntie Joy, Virgil, and their dog Scrappy!

We love the beach!
Next time, we'll wear our bathing suits!
Mimi and Daddy.  Daddy had to wear mommy's pink auburn hat.  He still got really sunburned.
Auntie Joy painted Kate's fingernails and toenails.
And taught her how to dry them correctly.
Saturday night, we all went out for dinner at one of the casinos, and Kate started to feel really sick and was running a fever.  We left early and got her some ibuprofen.  She had been coughing all day.

Sunday, we went to Biloxi to buy some fresh shrimp straight off of a boat.  Katelyn was feeling okay with ibuprofen.
Hundreds of catfish feeding off of the shrimp heads thrown in the water.
After a yummy shrimp lunch and birthday cake and ice cream for Mimi, we headed to the beach with Grammie while Mike and Grandpa went to gamble.  (Kate had some more ibuprofen so she was excited to play at the beach again.).
We wore our suits this time!

Katelyn took a turn for the worst and was up a lot of the night Sunday night.  Ibuprofen just wasn't helping her fever anymore.  I spent most of the ride home trying to decide when to stop at urgent care.  We ended up making it up to Buford.
Sick little Kate on the way home.
Cranky Collin on the way home because Mommy's kindle was dead and Daddy's was broken.
The urgent care center said that Kate had bronchitis and put her on an antibiotic and her breathing treatments.  As of tonight, the fever has been gone a day or so, but the cough is still yucky.  I hope it goes away soon too.  We've got more fall fun to have!

Thanks to Grammie and Grandpa for a great trip!
